The goal of ‘Kijani’ is to engage young Danes under education in development cooperation and SDGs by letting them experience firsthand climate change and climate adaption initiatives in East Africa. The project focuses on SDG 13 and 17 and will facilitate youth-to youth encounters between Danish high school students and Kenyan youths through study trips to Tharaka, Kenya. Following these, the students will facilitate civic engagement activities in the form of workshops, panel debates and SoMe campaigns targeting students from both folk school, boarding schools and high schools. The activities will educate and engage the target groups with focus on the role of youth as agents of change.
