  • Projektnummer CKU-21-A-01
  • Bevillingshaver Mission Øst
  • Partner Himalayan Education and Development (HEAD)
  • Land Nepal

Karnali is one of the poorest and most isolated regions in Nepal. Disability is considered shameful, and children with disabilities are often hidden and neglected. In this second phase of our project, Mission East, in collaboration with the local disability organization HEAD Nepal, will build on the strong achievements in the area of empowerment of people with disabilities, awareness and advocacy of the first phase and continue our efforts aimed at enabling people with disabilities to obtain rights (registration and social benefits), provide livelihoods and participate in community life. The target group is people with disabilities and their families in the rural Sarkegad. Efforts will focus on advocacy and savings groups, supporting revenue generation and raising awareness. The project will further build the capacity of local NGOs in the field of organization and advocacy so that they can continue their efforts for the rights of people with disabilities, and they will, in collaboration with local authorities, develop a more inclusive policy in the field of disability.
