Building global competencies and mutual understanding in Denmark and Tanzania

With this student exchange program, Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) in Tanzania and Ikast-Brande Gymnasium (IBG) in Denmark, will continue to collaborate to engage students from both schools in the UN’s sustainable development goals (UN SDG). We have already been funded by Globuspuljen for one exchange visit and wish to further develop this program. The project's primary target group is twelve students and two teachers from each of our schools, that will participate in the exchange program. The secondary target group will be the other students at our own school, the 8-grade students at nearby local schools that will hear a presentation from our travelling students, and the high school students from other Gymnasiums (Globale Gymnasier) participating in the workshop on “Culture and UN SDGs” that we are organizing. We aspire for all these students to become engaged and feel enabled to act on global issues.
