The project aims to engage Danish master’s students in global health research and cross-cultural collaboration, focusing on hypertension and stroke in Zanzibar.

Project participants: Danish NCD Alliance, Aarhus University and Zanzibar NCD Alliance along with Danish master’s students from Public Health and Medicine at AU and local Zanzibari students.

Activities:
-Training of Danish students, including SDG and Zanzibar context.
- Four exchange trips to Zanzibar, working in pairs with Zanzibari students.
-Joint research on hypertension and stroke, including study design, data collection and community outreach.
-Engagement activities in Denmark, including social media campaigns, presentations, and workshops.

Expected Results:
-Enhanced global health competencies and cross-cultural understanding among the students.
-New data on hypertension and stroke, informing local interventions and policy.
-Increased awareness and engagement with the SDGs and global health among Danish youth.
