The project “VSLA - promoting gender equality through women empowerment focusing on financial enabling and prevention of gender-based violence in the Bago Region- Phase II” aims to improve financial independence and gender equality by providing access to loans and savings to communities in the Bago Region. The project has Phase I from November 2018 to December 2021 with target beneficiaries 1000, and in this Phase II, the project is aiming to reach 2,000 direct beneficiaries. KWEG will provide training in Business Eye Opening (BEO) and Generate Your Business (GYB) and access to saving and loaning, in order to improve the livelihood and financial independence in the target areas. KWEG will also provide awareness on gender equality, gender-based violence and training in Women Protection Mechanisms. In this second phase, KWEG will also focus on exit strategy for the community and sustainability of VSLA groups by conducting workshop and providing necessary records and documents for them.
