Date and time: 9. september 2026, 9-12 CET.
Location: Online via Zoom
Diaconal locally led development is the process of transferring ownership and decision-making to local communities by adapting projects to each unique context, focusing on empowering local communities and marginalized groups to define their own development priorities and solutions so that transformation emerges from within.
This course will explore the opportunities and challenges of faith actors in facilitating locally led development. The course will assess how faith actors can use their unique ability to access and engage with local communities to ensure that interventions are contextually relevant, as well as their role as trusted intermediaries to facilitate inclusive platforms where local voices can be heard.
The course will also look into how challenges of faith actors due to hierarchal structure, power imbalances and instrumentalization can counteract locally led development.

Tuesday the 15th of September from 10-13 “The Green faith-based network” invites to a seminar where key messages from a profound study on how VSLAs and agroecology build climate resilience among small-scale farmers in East and Central Africa, will be shared. Danish Forum for Microfinance has initiated the study that is carried out together with The Baptist Church in Denmark’s partners in Burundi and Rwanda, DanChurchAid’s and ADRA’s partners in Uganda and PULS’ partners in Tanzania.
Findings will be shared on how VSLA groups build resilience through financial inclusion, how integrating climate-sensitive agriculture enables households to move from short-term to longer-term sustainable resilience, and how adaptation and protection frameworks can be strengthened by empowering VSLA groups in policy engagement. The study will also share findings on how locally rooted faith-based organizations can play a positive role in fostering sustainability and long-term impact in VSLAs.
Place: CKU, Peter Bangs Vej 5B, 2000 Frederiksberg.

Date: Wednesday, December 9th
Time: 09:00 – 11:00 AM (CEST)
Place: online
This meeting will focus on disability-inclusive diaconal child protection. Together we will explore how churches and faith-based organisations can help ensure that children with disabilities are protected, included, heard, and supported as full members of families, churches, and communities.
We will hear short practical experiences from partner contexts and reflect together on questions such as: What particular protection risks do children with disabilities face? How can safeguarding and reporting mechanisms become more accessible? And what diaconal resources can churches mobilise to support belonging, dignity, and protection?
As always, we will keep the format simple and interactive, with short inputs and space for exchange among participants..
We hope you can join us.
