The UN Global Goals

As Christians we have an obligation to respond to the injustice that we see. Yet it doesn’t come without challenges – because where are we to begin? The UN Sustainable Development Goals is a good starting point as they set the frame for local action with a global impact.

All 17 of the Global Goals are equally important, but three of them in particular are central in the work of CKU around the world.

These are Goal #2: Zero hunger, Goal #5: Gender equality, and Goal #16: Peace, justice and strong institutions. The latter encompasses both the protection of children’s rights (target 16.2) and the work for freedom of religion or belief (target 16.10), which you can read more about here.

In the menu to the right you can also learn more about how we work to achieve these three central goals.
