  • Bevillingshaver Dansk Kherware-Mission
  • Land India

The overall objective is to lower maternal and infant mortality rates in the Kherwara, India. This is done by promoting proper diet and nutrition and institutional delivery amongst mothers and their family members, as well as ensuring that the mothers have access to perinatal healthcare as well as healthcare for the child's first years, and that they receive the government’s financial benefits (equivalent of maternity leave).

The mothers, their family members and the rural health care centers (Anganwadi centers) have partaken in the development of this project. The staff have asked to receive training in pedagogical promotion of institutional delivery and diet and nutrition. Therefore, to ensure the sustainability of the project, we will train the health care personal in communicating this important knowledge to individuals who speak many languages but aren't able to read and write.

We are confident that this project will support women and children's survival rates in the area.
