- Projektnummer CKU-2026-TB-02
- Bevillingshaver Danish Minorities' Center for Human Rights and Development
- Land Kenya
This project strengthens Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in Eastleigh, Nairobi—a dense, diverse area with Muslim majority and Christian minority, where FoRB violations persist due to security-driven profiling, discrimination, and weak interfaith trust. Building on a 2023–2024 pilot, the initiative targets 30 Women FoRB Advocates and 30 Religious Focal Persons (Imams, pastors) across three zones. Activities include: community forums to nominate advocates, separate capacity-building on FoRB/documentation, women-led advocacy campaigns reaching about10,000 community members, interfaith forum with national faith bodies, religious leaders cascading FoRB messaging to about 3,000 congregants, community radio programmes reaching about 40,000 listeners, and roundtables with duty bearers from public institutions. Expected outcomes: active FoRB promotion by women and religious leaders, strengthened Muslim-Christian trust, and improved duty-bearer accountability.
