The Green Church-Based Development Network(Det Grønne Kirkelige Udviklingsnetværk) invites you to a seminar on Tuesday, June 17 from 10:00–13:00 at CKU, Peter Bangs Vej 5B, 4th floor, 2000 Frederiksberg. The theme will be the role of faith-based organizations in locally led climate adaptation initiatives.
Locally led climate adaptation provides the best foundation for appropriate climate adaptation in the
Global South. The consequences of climate change are context-specific and depend on local
climatic, environmental, and socio-economic conditions. It is essential that climate adaptation is
tailored to the local context, remains locally relevant, and responds to local needs. Faith-based
actors are locally present and can contribute to tailoring climate adaptation interventions so that
they are contextually relevant and responsive to local needs by including local communities in
decision-making processes about local solutions. Through their presence, faith-based actors can
channel climate finance directly to local levels, where the needs are greatest.
