Accelerating FGM prevention and abandonment in Baringo County Kenya-Phase 2

The overall aim of this intervention is to protect young girls and women from Female genital mutilation (FGM) through;
- Advocating the duty bearers and political leaders for increased commitment to FGM abandonment through legal frameworks, policies enforcement and monitoring,
- Sensitizing the rights holders to advocate the government to monitor and implement FGM legal policies and legal framework,
- Inclusion of youths and strengthening of the formal and informal community structures as change agents and ambassadors in the fight against FGM.
- Strengthening the capacity and the outreach of FPFK and FPFK local churches in the fight against FGM

The main activities of the intervention include:
- Training of duty bearers and political leaders on FGM data collection and use on FGM programming,
- Engagement of civil society with policy makers for FGM abandonment
- Development of sub-county FGM monitoring tools, advocacy strategies and FGM memos.
