The project aims to support the Turkana community with long term solutions of building community resilience to the impacts of climate change, especially drought, water scarcity, and resource-based conflicts between Kalochaan and Lomunyenakwaan villages of Kalapata, in Turkana County. The project targets these two villages, state and non-state actors, faith leaders and business community to enable the communities in conflict have access to reliable source of water, adopt resilient agricultural practices, diversify income sources, establish conflict resolution mechanisms, and strengthen advocacy groups to influence policies related to drought management, water resource allocation, and sustainable land use management. The main activities include, water point rehabilitation and borehole drilling, Village Saving and loaning, resource-conflict management, adoption of improved agricultural practices, and advocacy, environmental awareness and conservation around charcoal burning and selling.
