  • Projektnummer CKU-2024-A-15
  • Bevillingshaver Viva Danmark
  • Land Honduras

The project aims to create safer futures for children by addressing violence and harmful norms in at-risk families in Honduras. The intervention will strengthen families and capacitate schools, and churches to be (1) conducive environments for children’s resilience against stressors. To this end, children and families will be equipped with tools and knowledge to manage stressful situations and overcome challenges, and parents will be empowered to address their children’s emotional and psychological needs, build resilience, and claim their rights. Focus will be on churches as safe spaces and their role as change agents. In the broader system, the expected outcome is for (2) children and families to be protected and restored by multiple stakeholders, including local authorities and civil society. Advocacy efforts will focus on fostering multisectoral collaboration to enhance settings that prioritize children’s mental health, ensuring their long term protection and holistic development.
