  • Land South Sudan

South Sudan is still living with a legacy of civil war. Fights between tribes and clans has turned more violent as more weapons have been distributed and the conflicts are fueled by ethno-political competition over resources and power. Revenge is a common way to react and many people are traumatized. The project goal is for at least 540 out of 600 workshop participants to experience inner healing and be able to forgive trespassing and prevent conflicts. MAF South Sudan has conducted peace and reconciliation workshops since 2019 and have workshops facilitators trained in the concept Healing the Wounds of Ethnic Conflict used with succes in other contexts torn by ethnic conflict. More facilitators will be trained as part of this project to spread the teaching and non-violent way of solving conflicts to remote parts of the country. The expected outcome of the project is to reduce the level of conflict in local communities.
