Capacitating leaders in the Lutheran Church in Liberia

With the purpose of strengthening the capacity of the Lutheran Church in Liberia (LCL) and of leading a change process in the church, two senior pastors - one of them being part of LCL's national leadership - participate in the online Church-based Development Leadership (CDL) course. During the CDL course they receive training in subjects such as Diakonia, Organisational Development, Trauma Healing and Counselling, Project Design, Church and Society and Dialogue with Authorities and Media. Their participation in the CDL is expected to enable them to engage in the development and diaconal work of the LCL. Moreover, their newly acquired knowledge and skills, which will be shared with LCL pastors, executive council members, and others, will be used to analyze real problems relative to LCL's internal and external conditions and the social, economic, and political context in which LCL exists.
