PURPOSE:
The purpose of the 4-day workshop is to bring together North Indian migrants and religious leaders from North Chennai to explore strategies for fostering peace and stability through the promotion of freedom of religion and belief. Featuring expert-led discussions and participatory sessions, the workshop will enhance participants' understanding of religious freedom as articulated in legal frameworks and religious texts, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Holy Qur'an, and the Holy Bible.Keynote speakers would be invited to speak on concept of Freedom of religion in relation to Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.
Expected outputs:
Output 1: At least 90% of the 50 North Indian migrants and religious leaders who took part in the workshop are introduced to the concept of religious freedom.
Output 2: A feasibility study report as a basis for FoRB activities in the target area is available.
