The ALIL phase II project aims to improve the livelihood and social wellbeing of Maasai and other nomadic pastoralist communities in Dar es Salaam and the Coastal region. Over 30 months, it will target 14 communities in Chalinze, Kinondoni, and Temeke districts through four key components:
Adult literacy: Enhancing education and literacy, particularly for women and girls, to expose them to socio-economic opportunities.
Entrepreneurship: Developing sustainable business practices through training in savings and credit groups, networking with financial institutions, and mindset transformation.
Climate resilient agriculture: Promoting sustainable agricultural practices to enhance resilience to climate change and ensure food security.
Advocacy: Strengthening the voice of pastoralist communities in policy-making processes, advocating for their rights, and peace building.
The faith-based approach aim to mobilize communities and drive change, emphasizing the role of faith in motivation.
