  • Projektnummer CKU-2025-A-18
  • Bevillingshaver Mission Afrika
  • Land Cameroon

This project strengthens the socio-economic empowerment of rural women in Mayo-Kani, Cameroon, by combining financial inclusion, leadership development, and rights advocacy. Women are organized into Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) that evolve into legally recognized group structures (GICs), enabling them to save, access credit, and invest in sustainable income-generating activities. Through this process, women build both financial independence and collective solidarity. Training in governance, leadership, anddiversification of livelihoods enhances their capacity to manage funds, make decisions, and influence local development. The project also engages traditional chiefs, and religious leaders to promote women’s rights as a shared community value. By linking economic empowerment with social transformation, the intervention creates pathways for lasting change, where women’s voices are recognized, their livelihoods are resilient, and their rights are upheld.
