The Able Together project aims to improve economic opportunities, advocacy capacity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for persons affected by leprosy or disability, and other marginalized groups in Shashemene and Kofele Woreda, Ethiopia. The primary target groups are members of local leprosy associations and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), as well as duty bearers, including religious leaders and public authorities. The project focuses on 1) building the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs) and community leaders to advocate for the rights of persons affected by leprosy or disability, 2) creating networking meetings between CSOs, religious actors, and public authorities to facilitate advocacy and collaboration, and 3) raising community awareness about leprosy and disability through campaigns, community meetings, theatre, and media.
