Learning process on VSLA and climate change adaptation
- Projektnummer CKU-2025-E-04
- Bevillingshaver Projekt Ulandshjælp til Selvhjælp
- Land Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania
The purpose of the learning process is to collect learning regarding the correlation of VSLA work and climate change adaptation resilience and thereby inform future programming.
In 2023 external review of the CISU-supported project in Siha, Kilimanjaro, consultant Donald Kasongi, concluded, that the project activities contributed to resilience in terms of economy, social coherence and climate adaptation. Dr. Friis-Hansen from Danish Institute of International Studies, in a report from ADRA-activities in Zimbabwe, point to that VSLAs create more climate adaptation resilience amongst its members.
In the learning process, PULS and think tank partner RECODA take a deeper look into the topic, and learn from own and other partners, to what extent and in what way VSLA as a key methodology help their VSLA members to become more resilient to climate change adaptation. Are VSLA members able to take climate wise decisions in daily life? Can they manage to assist each other during hard times?
