Protecting and promoting FoRB in Lebanon through education, advocacy, and interfaith engagement

This intervention will work within the fields of education, policy-making and religious leaders’ engagement to increase respect for and promotion of Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in Lebanese society. Through the development of innovative educational tools about FoRB and training teachers and secondary school students, it will ensure that knowledge about FoRB rights is well-grounded and reaching the next generation. To ensure sustainability, Adyan Foundation, Danmission's longstanding local partner will also carry out advocacy with members of parliament and their staff for the integration of FoRB education in official educational curricula. As social and popular support is also an important aspect for developing a culture respective of FoRB, religious leaders, as influential figures in the Lebanese society, will also play an important role in raising awareness on FoRB through their sermons and local community initiatives.
