Positive Parenting for Safe, Nurturing, and Resilient Families in Zimbabwe

  • Projektnummer CKU-2026-A-03
  • Bevillingshaver Viva Danmark
  • Land Zimbabwe

The project aims to ensure that children in Zimbabwe grow up in safe, nurturing, and resilient families through the promotion of positive, rights-based parenting. It addresses harmful physical and emotional discipline that remains widespread due to entrenched cultural norms and limited parental awareness. Using a faith- and community-driven approach, the project will equip parents, caregivers, and leaders with non-violent parenting skills and create peer support structures such as parent circles and family dialogue forums—giving special focus to fathers and families raising children with disabilities. By 2027, the initiative seeks to transform parenting behaviors and strengthen institutional commitment across churches, schools, and local authorities, fostering a
shift from violent discipline toward empathy, protection, and child dignity.
