Project Hope Phase 2 is a maternal health initiative in rural Kherwara, Rajasthan, implemented by Mission Support (MS) and Manav Aashrita Sansthan (MAS). Building on the success of Phase 1, the project aims to improve perinatal outcomes for marginalized young women from low-caste and tribal communities.
Recognizing that maternal health is shaped by nutrition, access to healthcare, and family and community support, the project expands previous efforts by including newly married couples, male family members, and religious actors to address social norms and decision-making dynamics that influence women’s health. Key activities include nutrition counselling, support for kitchen gardens, improved access to financial benefits, antenatal care and safe delivers, reproductive health education, and training of volunteers. Operating in seven remote panchayats, the project emphasizes sustainability through capacity building, community ownership, and alignment with national health programs.
