The Migori Female Households Empowerment Project
- Projektnummer CKU-2026-B-05
- Bevillingshaver Assist
- Land Kenya
Acknowledging that female headed households are highly marginalized and vulnerable, yet have the capacity to be primary drivers of economic growth, the Migori Female Households Empowerment Project (MIFHEP) targets 200 poor single mothers and widows heading households and aims to equip them with financial literacy and community-based life skills in table banking groups, fostering eco-conscious women that are stewards of nature, deriving income from the transformation of waste into value, thus leading to socio-economically healthy and functional female-headed homes, full of green energy advocates in Migori County, Kenya. Noting the critical role of Government and non-state actors in ensuring project sustainability, the project supports the participants to prepare proposals in their groups to be presented to the Woman representative for legislation and action thus enabling the project to be sustainable, translating to socio-economically empowered female households.
