- Projektnummer CKU-2026-TA-01
- Bevillingshaver Frederiksberg Integrations Forening
- Land Sri Lanka
A 2-year project, ‘Empowering Minority Women of Faith to Defend FoRB in Sri Lanka’ will be implemented in hotspot areas in the North, East, Central and North Western provinces. The project addresses barriers faced by Hindu, Muslim and Christian women, including discrimination, limited access to justice and social pressure linked to religious identity. It will train 100 minority women leaders to recognise and respond to FoRB violations, carry out community advocacy and engage duty bearers. At the same time, 100 interreligious lawyers will be trained to handle FoRB cases with a focus on gendered issues and provide legal support. Partner CBOs will facilitate legal clinics and referral pathways connecting women to legal assistance. Regional and national consultations, along with six e-learning courses, will strengthen public and institutional awareness and improve responses to gendered FoRB violations.
