The Together in Faith & Freedom project works to protect and promote Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in diverse communities in Niger State, Nigeria. It focuses on reducing discrimination and conflicts linked to religion, politics, ethnicity, and economics.
About 1,020 people directly participate, including religious leaders (Christians, Muslims, and minorities), youth aged 18–35, women leaders, and community representatives. Around 500,000 people will benefit indirectly from better relationships between religions and stronger protection of FoRB.
The project includes training on FoRB, interfaith dialogues, early warning systems, documenting incidents, and advocacy with local authorities. It also supports peace committees and helps victims of FoRB violations.
The goal is to increase understanding between religions, empower communities to prevent violations, and encourage local authorities to act fairly, promoting peace and religious freedom in Niger State.
