This seminar is the second of two seminars, and participation requires completion of the first seminar.

CKU invites member organizations and their south partners to a virtual seminar on Safeguarding.

The purpose of Safeguarding is to ensure that all people are treated with respect, dignity and worth, and to avoid negative effects and harm for project recipients and partners in project activities supported by CKU. It is a requirement in CKU that self-administering organizations have their own Safeguarding policy, and that local partners have a local complaint and response mechanism in place when receiving CKU grants above 500,000 DKK.

Safeguarding expert Mette Honore will be the presenter at the seminar. She will introduce what safeguarding is, why it is important, and how it can be implemented in organizations.

The second seminar will go into more detail on complaint mechanisms, handling incoming complaints, and roles and responsibilities in organizations related to safeguarding. Participation in the introductory seminar is a prerequisite for joining.

The seminar will take place online on Wednesday, October 29th, from 09:00 to 12:00 CET.

Program:

  • Revisit basic safeguarding standards and definitions
  • Roles and responsibilities – possibly a short RACI exercise
  • Complaint mechanisms – why, what, who, when, how
  • Investigations – again why, what, who, when, how – and the core investigation principles
