The Centre for Church-based Development (CKU) is commissioning a learning review of selected CKU-funded child protection projects granted between 2020 and 2026 and seeks an external consultant or consultancy team to carry out the assignment. The learning review aims to generate insights from practice on how locally anchored, faith-based approaches contribute to the prevention of and response to violence against children, in order to strengthen an evidence-informed approach to future diaconal child protection work.
Using both mixed and participatory methods, the consultant will explore strengths, challenges, dilemmas, and emerging patterns across different geographical and thematic areas. This includes 2-3 field visits to selected projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in conducting learning reviews, evaluations or research related to development cooperation, child protection and/or safeguarding
- Demonstrated experience working with locally led development and faith-based actors, and an understanding of the opportunities and complexities of such approaches
- Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis and synthesis, including the ability to work with practice-based insights from diverse contexts
- Experience with participatory and context-sensitive methodologies, and an ability to engage constructively with a range of stakeholders
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear and accessible analytical outputs.
As a Global South perspective is considered a strong asset, consultants based in the Global South are encouraged to apply, either independently or in collaboration with others.
